Xiao Pang clucked his tongue and said, “With so many tall and strong Alphas around, why do you have to do the heavy lifting, brother Sui? That’s just too mean.”
“Am I that bad?”
Tong Sui had just been emotionally impacted by the realization of his malnutrition, making him a bit overly sensitive.
“No, no, no, that’s not what I meant.”
Xiao Pang looked at Tong Sui.
He clearly had just woken up; his hair was messy with a few strands sticking out, and his fair face still bore some reddened marks from sleeping.
His wrist, holding the spoon, was delicate and pale.
Tong Sui was also good-looking, with refined features that seemed to belong to a different world than those rough and unkempt Alphas.
Such an Alpha would only make one want to hold him gently, how could one bear to have him do such rough work?
After finishing his meal, Tong Sui took a shower.
He contemplated the medicine oil in his hand for a moment before finally opening it and applying a little.
The medicine oil felt cool and soothing against his skin.
He pushed it into his back, but due to the position, his arm quickly grew tired. Tong Sui couldn’t help but think: if only Yelinyuan were here, it would be so easy for him to rub in the medicine oil.
The next day, Tong Sui went to class as usual.
After sitting in the classroom for the entire morning, he felt like his back was about to break. Once school was over, he quickly packed his things and left.
When he arrived at Night Linyuan’s office, he nodded to the assistant before entering.
Night Linyuan was still dealing with the heavy workload he had fallen behind on during this time. Hearing footsteps, he didn’t look up.
It seemed he was at a crucial part of his work.
Tong Sui didn’t want to disturb him and stood quietly to the side.
When handling business, Night Linyuan’s originally cool demeanor became even more distant and unapproachable as his brows furrowed slightly.
Tong Sui waited for a few minutes.
Finally, Night Linyuan lifted his head and appeared slightly surprised to see him. Only then did he check the time and realize school was over.
Night Linyuan stood and pulled Tong Sui into his embrace, saying, “Why didn’t you call for me?”
“Weren’t you busy?”
Tong Sui sat on his lap and glanced at the stack of files, feeling overwhelmed by the dense text.
“Still a lot to handle, right?”
“Yeah.”
Night Linyuan’s hand slid slightly down his back and landed on Tong Sui’s lower back. “Did you apply the medicine?”
“Yeah.”
Night Linyuan pressed lightly, causing Tong Sui’s back to soften.
“Hmm…”
The pressure on his lower back made it tingle.
Tong Sui leaned weakly against his chest, letting out a soft hum.
Night Linyuan said, “Is that the effect of the medicine you used?”
“I couldn’t muster the strength to push you away.”
Tong Sui hadn’t expected to be checked on this way. He whispered, “You weren’t here, so I couldn’t just ask my roommate for help…”
There were still marks on his body that hadn’t faded.
“Hmm, no need to call them,” Night Linyuan opened the drawer under the desk. “I’ll help you.”
Tong Sui was surprised, “How do you have some too?”
Night Linyuan’s palm unexpectedly held a bottle of the same medicine oil.
“I figured you wouldn’t apply it properly.” Night Linyuan twisted the cap off, pressing down on Tong Sui’s back, “Lay down.”
“Oh…”
Tong Sui obediently placed his hands on the desk, leaning forward.
The cool medicine oil dripped onto his skin, causing him to shiver.
Rough fingers pressed on him.
Night Linyuan had more strength than him; as he rubbed, there was heat in his touch, amplifying the tingling and warmth, intensifying the original soreness.
Tong Sui couldn’t help but want to arch his back and escape his torment.
But he was easily pressed back down by Night Linyuan’s other hand, and it wasn’t until the medicine oil was completely absorbed that he was released from the restraint.
Tong Sui quickly pulled his clothes down; when he stood, his legs were a bit wobbly.
His lower back felt hot.
Night Linyuan stood up, saying, “I’m going to wash my hands.”
Tong Sui rubbed his back; although Night Linyuan’s hand was heavy, he had to admit the effect was really good.
After washing his hands, Night Linyuan opened the lunch box.
He pushed a familiar soup towards Tong Sui, saying, “This is for you.”
Tong Sui frowned a bit, “Do I have to drink it?”
Night Linyuan replied, “Aren’t you supposed to be proactive?”
“Well, fine.”
Tong Sui could only drink half before feeling full; he left the rest for Night Linyuan to finish.
After eating, Night Linyuan carried him to take a nap.
Once Tong Sui fell into a deep sleep,
Night Linyuan rose quietly, closed the door, and returned to the desk to handle the files.
A message came through on his light brain.
“Lu Yiming is trying to contact certain members of the royal family who are not on your side, but we intercepted him. It seems he is not giving up and has been lingering near the palace.”
Night Linyuan’s eyes grew colder.
“Understood, he won’t last long. Keep watching.”
“Yes.”
Lu Yiming’s thoughts were incredibly naive.
Relying on how Night Linyuan could secure the top position in the military academy upon graduation, it took the support of countless people; a mere Lu family wanting to bring him down was simply not enough.
Once Night Linyuan’s patience was exhausted, his methods would no longer be so gentle.
When Tong Sui was awakened, he had no idea how long Night Linyuan had been working. He rubbed his eyes as he rose.
Night Linyuan adjusted his clothes.
“I have to work late tonight; we might not be able to meet.”
“Then can I come keep you company?” Tong Sui asked, “I can do my homework quietly beside you, okay?”
He looked at Night Linyuan with eager eyes, and after a moment’s hesitation, Night Linyuan rubbed Tong Sui’s head and said, “Be good; when I see you, I can’t help but want to…”
“Alright, just do not stay up too late.”
Tong Sui dressed and left for class.
He got out of school early in the afternoon, while some roommates went to participate in clubs, others went out to play.
